**The Nixie device project.** Please click the discussion tab to help Finish this project **What is a Nixie?** Numeric Indicator eXperiment or nixie tube is a gas discharge device. Their color and working voltage are determined by the properties of the neon gas within. They ignite at 140-170 V, slightly varying by type. Once ignited, their resistance is very low so a series resistor is necessary to limit the current, typically to 1-5 mA. The working voltage is 90-130 V depending on type. If the voltage drops below the turn-off voltage, the nixie will go out. {{:lot_of_in-12.jpg}} **links** http://www.ogilumen.com/index.php http://www.ogilumen.com/nixie-tube-power-supply-p-91.html http://www.ogilumen.com/nixie-driver-p-89.html http://www.desmith.com/NMdS/Electronics/NixiePSU.html http://www.tubeclockdb.com/nixie-kits.html http://www.tayloredge.com/storefront/SmartNixie/index.html http://www.desmith.com/NMdS/Electronics/NixiePSU/ **what we need to do** Build a motherfucking power supply and nixie driver Nixie group buy is OVER, if enough people want more I'll order more These nixie tubes display numbers from 0 to 9 and decimal point. **specs** Size of the tube: 0.84" x 1.24" x 1.04" (21 x 31 x 26mm) Size of the numericals: 0.71" x 0.47" (18mm x 12mm) data sheet http://www.tubehobby.com/datasheets/in12.pdf ---- the following was ordered: IN-12B NIXIE TUBES.
